ISP Reliability
There are several ISP providers in most of the world’s countries that share or provide internet service to the rest of the world and your choice of ISP can make or break your ability to connect to internet fast and securely. Most ISP’s have their own infrastructure in place and are mostly telephone service providers in the case of ADSL or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line is the cheapest and most common connection available to most of the wired world. Most do not know that this form of DSL connection uses copper wires as opposed to the highly publicized fiber optic cables of developed countries due to the cost factor.
Copper cables are anywhere carrying their phone services and they only need to transfer the line to a port which is connected to the DSL hardware allowing the same line for use as a phone and DSL access port. With the addition of a filter, the signal for audio or the phone is filtered out leaving the signal for internet access crisp and clear.
The connection requires a DSL modem which allows you to connect via cable to your PC or with a wireless access point to allow several wireless devices to use the same internet connection. Most ISP’s limit the speeds at which they allow their users to access the net based on the particular service contract they chose to enroll in. The more expensive the package the faster the speed of the connection. Most of the back-side operations of your ISP are hidden from view so local research must be done to determine the real set-up and configuration of such.
