Internet access for rural America campaign launched

Tag: Newseditor @ 10:38 am

WISPA, or the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association is campaigning in the Congress to push legislation that will allow for more Americans to receive internet access.

Many Americans, especially those in rural and far flung areas, do not enjoy connection to the internet simply because it costs a lot to bring access to these areas. WISPA is gunning for federal support in terms of fund assistance to small ISPs with a good track record, who will be given grants to expand their service providing to these areas.

The group believes that access to the web will also usher in new opportunities for these areas, so that they can grow and enjoy a better economy. Public services and utilities are also expected to be enhanced by the installation of internet service.
